This is a great product. Made well. I was concerned from other comments the product would smell terrible. Ours does not smell like chemicals at all. Maybe they reformulated their product. VERY PLEASED. Good value.

Perfect for All Ages
I am so glad I went with this product! I was throwing a going away party for friends and some of us have young children. It was so fun to play ourselves as well not having to worry when the kids wanted to have their turn. Super easy to set and take down and it helped to provide entertainment for both kids and adults. I can't wait to take it on our next camping adventure!

I would agree with one of the other reviewers that there was a strong "rubber smell," but it did soon dissipate. Also, if you purchase these, be sure to store them flat as the shoes will bend to match whatever surface they are sitting on. Any "bends" can be corrected but will take time. I compared these to the plastic type you can find in party stores and these are a much better set. They are heavy enough to not get carried away by the wind, but are not too heavy for young children. I bought two sets of these with a special purpose in mind and they will be perfect. My son saw them in my workshop and was immediately interested. As an avid amateur horseshoe player, he immediately thought these would be a perfect distraction for my 3 and 5 year-old grandsons while he is practicing.

Really enjoy this rubber horseshoe set
My family plays horseshoe's quite often in the summer. We have an adult set and the kids always want to play. The horseshoe's are just too heavy for them. Bought this set so that my children could play. They love it! As do I! We play in the backyard with this set all the time. You can also play indoors which is an added bonus for rainy days! These rubber horseshoe's have a good weight to them. Not super light like the other cheap plastic ones we've tried before.

It's working perfectly! I live in New England, so our yard is basically rock, rock, grass, rock. Under the grass is more rock. So the only problem I had was finding a place in the ground to put the stakes into. The stakes are NOT STRONG at all, so you can't push too hard into the ground, which them causes them to be a bit loose when the horseshoe hits it. We quickly got past that issue though and just had a blast with this! My boys are 6 and 9, and it was perfect for them. We have NOT tried this indoors yet. There are little accessories to make this adaptable for indoors. I can't give you a review about that part. I am going to try to use some of those yellow tent stakes (solid plastic) next time and see if they will work in place of the thin yellow stakes that are given. Again, it's really not a big issue though.

Great little set for kids.
Likes: it’s a neat set of lawn games. The colors make it interesting. The spikes hold, the pads might save some of the yard and the shoes are balanced well. Dislikes: wish it came with a case or sturdy nylon bag to store set in. The shoes are pretty light but this is a plastic kit so they seem appropriate for intended use for children. I recommend setting it up with spikes much closer together than a steel set.

The light weight, plastic construction and choice of bases makes this a good toy. The ability to use the pegs with the big rubber base indoors if the weather is bad makes it very versatile.

Bought this set my my 15 year old disabled son. He loves horseshoes and this set is perfect since it can be used indoors and out. The shoes are a harder rubber-ish material and do clunk quite a bit on my hardwood floors, but no damage. Great set for a great price and the fact that it can be set up indoors or outdoors.

These horseshoes are about anything you could want for use by younger folks or those who don't wish to toss 2 and 1/2 pound steel shoes. It is a complete set for use on any surface and is entirely portable. Other user comments about a strong petroleum odor have apparently been addressed, as I could detect no smell at all right out of the box.
